God always makes a way when we can't see it. He is our strength and we depend on him. On the road to VICTORY!!!!!!
This past weekend Blazin Gazelles Youth Track Club had an amazing meet. We had all 5 of our runners make it to Regionals that will be held in Las Vegas next week. We are proud coaches as well as proud parents. They have worked so hard all season and now they get to see how hardwork pays off. They have all hit PR's. We look forward to next week in Vegas and see what great things they do next.
Today was an amazing day on the track for our Adain Perez he has improved so much since the beginning of the season. Just to see his confidence level increase week after, after. Today he ran the 400 meters strong from start to finish. He has shown so much heart and passion to improve in his knowledge of track. He is a great listener. His parents should be so proud to have a son that is not afraid to work hard and to reach toward new goals every week. Here stands a proud coach saying well done Adain keep up the great job.
Today we started on our road to the Junior Olympics. And boy did our kids step up. Today our whole time PR in their races. To see the smiles and excitement of the children when they came across the finish line in first just made our day. We make sure to enourage our children and not tear them now. We started our day with a team prayer. Without God we are nothing........We still have work to do. But today was a great start. Coach Dee is proud
It is about that time of year for track season. This is an important time for young runners. They must remember to eat right, get enough sleep and drink lots of water. Feeding your body with the right foods will allowit to gain strength and energy. As young athletes it is very important to go the extra mile while at home so that means while watching tv or just sitting around the house you can be streching, doing extra push ups and sit ups. Extra is a good thing. Let's have an amazing season.
I would like to give a great big Blazin Gazelles welcome to all of our new families. Welcome to the team and we pray you are blessed by us. We will laugh and cry together. This is a great time in your kids life to make new friends and make lasting memories.
How many of you have children that hate drinking water? Have you ever thought about why. When children are young as in infanty is when we must start their love for water. As parents we must model what we want our children to do. If they see you only drinking everything but water then 9 times out of 10 they will be the same way.
Here are some cool ways to help them fall in love with water. For starters start giving it to them when they say they are thirsty. Second start adding fruit to their water (lemons, apples, oranges, strawberries) slice them into thin slices and drop them in the pitcher of water. Children love color so for them they will be drinking a special water but for you they will be getting their daily intake. Start them off healthy..... You want have to get them healthy later..... As a mother of two boys it is so important that I keep them active as wel as feeding them healthy food. It is not always easy, after a long day of work it is faster to stop and grab some fast food. But what we forget is that all that process food is bad for our kids as well as bad for our pockets. we would rather spen between $20 - $25 on fast food then cook a home cooked meal. Our children thank us when we think about their growth. So let's stop feeding our kids the wrong foods and take he time to feed them the right foods. We are the key to stopping childhood obesity. We must lead by example. So parents that means cutting out all the goodies you like but want give the kids. Stop using food as a reward for your children it will only make them depend on food. Food should be fun.
Instead of chips/veggies with dip Instead of ice cream/yogurt and fruit Instead of cookies/trail mix Fill their lunch and snack bags with the good stuff their body will thank you. |
